Love the cast so far of Expendables 3! One suggestion to add to the cast - Carl Weathers! How better than Apollo Creed to help save the day! Chris

Can't wait for the next chapter. I wish I could be in the cast myself. I have a background which makes me ideal. I boxed professionally for 3yrs to pay for college, was in the marine corp., studied martial arts for 12yrs, and for 5yrs have been in EMS where you see things most people should never see. On top of that I have an education which has allowed me through the years to be an executive for a few companies. Guess its a good dream to be the next expendable. Mostly I'm just glad to see sly back on the big screen so much. He's awesome!

Mr. Stallone, I am all excited about Expendables 3 and who will be in it. I happy to hear Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford along with Antonio Banderas and Victor Ortiz and RR are cast. Is there a small chance Jackie Chan or Michael Biehn may be it E3? Thank you, Joey Garza

Back in 1990, there were rumors among Eastern Europe movie-fans about the existence of a movie with all the great action heroes: Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Van Damme and Chuck Norris (there was no Imdb to verify it). In the mirific world that we would imagine for that movie, we never conceived that our heroes could end up assassinating each other in cold blood. The action stars from the 80's and 90's have their status specifically because we all identified ourselves with the characters that they played. So how exactly did we end up from the "Expendable" to the "Expendables"? The story of the Expendable (John Rambo) was first written by David Morell. Basically a horrible novel about a disturbed soldier that comes back from Vietnam and kills a few people in cold blood (OK, there was a bit more than that, but not much more). Stallone transformed that story into a masterpiece, focusing it around a truly noble - hearted character, who is a genius in what he does, but who understands perfectly that there is little place for him in the real world and refuses to use his incredible fighting skills against ignorant average people. So: genius, special, alone against the world, modest, full of heart = all ingredients of a character with which we all could identified with (in our dreams, of course). Compared to the "Expendable" of David Morell, Stallone's "Expendable" doesn't kill a single person in the first Rambo movie (OK, a guy falls out of a helicopter, but it was his own fault, and he was really really mean). How the "Expendable" evolved from the noble character we discovered in Rambo 1 to the guts-spilling maniac in "John Rambo", I can't really understand, but clearly there was a constant evolution towards the character created by David Morell that Stallone ingeniously avoided in the first-place. It seems that we reached new peaks with Barney Ross, who is nothing more than a vicious assassin. Still, this guy doesn't just kill people that can't defend themselves (like Villain, in the end fight of Expendables 2), he takes on the mission of destroying all our childhood heroes (by killing some of them, but mostly by erasing their auras). I can understand that there are a few maniacs that only understand blood when they watch a movie, but there's the rest of us 7 billion people too. For us, the real movie fans, Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Van Damme and Chuck Norris carry with them the incredible characters that they brought to life in the past, characters through which we lived amazing adventures. The characters that are associated with such actors could never be friends in a movie, as they all have unlimited egos and unchained personalities. But an action hero was not a killer in the 80's specifically because he had several principals. Because they have the same principals, in the same movie, they would always fight on the same side. But they would never team up because of their strong personalities. I can't remember any of the real action heroes just killing someone in cold blood (well, maybe Rambo killing the Vietnamese officer with the exploding arrow, or John Matrix throwing Sully off the cliff, but they almost deserved it). We always admired those characters for their principals, not for their ability to kill other people. So what exactly are our childhood heroes turning themselves into?

Mr. Stallone ~ is Mickey Rourke going to reprise his role of "Tool" in 'Expendables 3'? First I heard/read that he was confirmed, and now there is no word. He was such a great character in 'The Expendables', Rourke adds so much to any film, even if his appearance on screen is brief. I hope he'll return! Thanks, Papi T

Hi Sly, I love these movies and the New lineup is shaping up great! For My money though the best cast is always going to be the one that gets along and can have a little fun despite all the hard work. That enjoyment always comes through in the Final Product and any movie is better for it. On that note it it too late to cast Michael Biehn? That guy is nothing but awesome!
